Saluting Local Heroes

Heroes Quilt created by Gen. Wood Club and Bank of America to honor local Chicago Fire Department Engine 109.
As part of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, Bank of America volunteers worked with Gen. Robert E. Wood Club members and staff to honor the community’s local Chicago Fire Department Engine 109, by creating a "Heroes Quilt."  In addition, Bank of America and the Club presented the fire department with a plaque thanking them for the daily sacrifices the department makes in their community. Members were able to meet the firefighters, thank them personally and view the two fire trucks in which they arrived. The firefighters, who visited the Club, were very appreciative and said that it was one of few times their service has been recognized. It was a fun day and provided an excellent opportunity for our youth to demonstrate the tremendous rewards of giving back to our community.  Thank you Bank of America!
