Q. Why did the name change from General Robert E. Wood Club to True Value Club?
True Value has been a committed partner of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) for over 35 years. In 2015, True Value generously pledged a $1.5 million grant in support of BGCC. The General Robert E. Wood Club has been renamed the True Value Club in recognition of True Value’s ongoing support and engagement with Boys & Girls Clubs in the Chicago community and around the country.

Q. How does this grant impact the Little Village Community?
True Value is providing not only a generous grant but also putting in volunteer time, providing mentorship and facilities improvement work that the Club needs to best serve youth and strengthen the community.

Q. How will the True Value grant be used?
The grant will support after school programs that promote healthy lifestyles, academic success and character development at True Value Club, located at 2950 West 25th Street in Chicago.

Q. Are the programs and services changing at the Club?
Programs and services will continue to be offered during True Value Club’s regular after-school operating hours, Monday through Friday.
